- Open the Outlook for the user who will be sharing the folder and create a folder or subfolder (I will be creating a subfolder off inbox for this example).
2. For another user to access the new folder you will need to make sure the full pathing is visible including the main inbox and email (see below). You will need to Add the other user you are sharing this with to the folder permissions tab and make it visible. If for a subfolder the main folder will need the same steps done as well.
3. In the folder you would like to share, right click on it > properties > permissions. Add the user you would like to have permissions and select the level of permissions you want them to have.
4. After all permissions have been given, you will need to have the second user (in this case Benjamin) add the first account (Max’s email) as an additional mailbox. Click on file and open account settings.
5. Double click on the second user’s mailbox (Benjamins) and another pop-up should appear for exchange account settings. Click on more settings on the left tab.
6. Click on the advance tab and add the email of the first user here (max). Once you have added it click apply and if done correctly the shared mailbox should appear.
Make sure to hit apply after and the mailbox should appear in their Outlook. NOTE: IF FOLDER IS NOT SET UP PROPERLY, THEY MAILBOX SHOULD NOT APPEAR EVEN IF ADDED.
